France

Yes We Camp creates inventive and inclusive places that bring people together. Founded in 2013, the French non-profit organisation based in Marseille and Paris develops and manages hybrid places and shared spaces, while supporting citizen initiatives and innovative urban projects. Drawing on more than ten years of field experience, a multidisciplinary team and a broad network of partners, Yes We Camp works with local authorities, associations and project leaders, from the early stages of an idea through to its operational implementation.  Yes We Camp’s expertise covers the different dimensions involved in creating and managing shared spaces, including access to land, hybrid economic models, shared governance, legal and regulatory frameworks, architecture and spatial planning, participatory construction, social inclusion, cultural programming, food and hospitality, volunteer mobilisation and communication. Its projects are developed through an iterative and context-based approach, combining listening, collective action, hospitality, creativity and experimentation.

Alongside its role as an operator, Yes We Camp also develops research, training, consultancy and knowledge-sharing activities, supporting other organisations and collectives in the development of their own projects.
